# 9 virtual world

I know I am old now,  I have no inclination to join in the virtual world, I have trouble understanding how anyone wants to sit for any length of time involved in this area.  Maybe I have enough going on in my life and am quite happy in it and do not want to escape.  Sorry this part of the learning leaves me cold.

I could find google docs, i could write a document and insert a picture but I couldn't work out how to sent it to my blog.  FAILED

No 4 Web 2

what do I think about web 2 w..e...ll I find it very daunting at times.  Things change quickly and I sometimes feel in a time warp. I now know how my mother felt when the Beatles and all the rest hit the scene when I was in my teens (said I was an old librarian).  I watch the younger teachers and my daughter being so confident with all their phones, i pads, etc and still wonder is it all necessary.  I feel concern that so many put so much personal information on the net, is it really that safe? I acknowldege that technology has made finding information much quicker, it is easier to sit on a computer and sent a message or talk to someone than post a letter (but receiving a personal letter is more intimate, a phone call more personal).
for education and the library Web 2 does make things easier only if participants can easily access and use the technology.
Maybe by the end of this course I will feel more confident in using Web 2 and so feel more positive about its growing use.

I decided not to show you my real self but the one I am coming back as, that is a cat that lives with me.  Totally spoilt and have the run of the place.  This cat was dumped at my school so I took her in, my other cat (also dumped at a school) accepted her nicely, didn't attack but she has a certain style, look at me, feed me but don't touch and I rule.  After many different tins of food we now know her preferred tastes, that is meat from my plate, finely cut but if that's not available then a certain tinned food with suffice.  As the owner I am thoroughly trained and know how to treat her in the correct manner. So this is why the photo of a cat instead of me.
PS she is much cuter than I am but I am far less bossy than she is.

Have created a blog

Dear all

Have passed the first test and created a blog, I was only rejected once with an error, but kept going and here I am.
Looking forward to the rest, that is if the old brain can cope with it all.
